Q: What do I need to do FIRST to get a place in the LUT’s Dormitory?

A: You need to get a Letter of Acceptance of LUT studies.

Q: Where could I apply for the place?

A: In the APPLICATION FORM 2024/2025 - the link is here - choose the answer <yes> for the LUT’s Dormitory

Q: When will I know that I’m accepted to stay at LUT’s Dormitory?

A: You'll receive the email correspondence: the preliminary confirmation and further instruction.

Q: How could I book my accommodation?

A: First, send 105Eur as a returnable deposit. details of the payment are here:

Q: What should I write in the title of the bank transfer?

A: Your name, surname, deposit for LUT’s Dormitory>

Q: What could I do when some money is consumed by the bank commission and exchange rate payment?

A: Please, allow some extra money. Students can pay up the missing amount of money when already in Lublin.

Q: How much money do I need to pay for my accommodation?

A: the price for your stay in LUT Dormitory consists of two modes: the payment before you become a student of LUT [counted as of days] and when you are a student [counted as of monthly payment for all the months in the semester].

The exact price is given to you by the Receptionist - depends on the day of your arrival.

Q: how much will that be?

A: One place in a 2-person room costs 895,-pln a month. It means, that every person in a two-person room pays 895,-PLN every month. It covers media and a blanket change once a month. Students have to pay for the whole semester in advance, within 7days since arriving.

Q: How can I pay for my accommodation fee?

A: With your credit card at the Reception Desk terminal or by bank transfer.

Q: Could I get the document for the visa purpose based on the accommodation at LUT’s Dormitory

A: Yes. It will be sent to you via email.

Q: How does the room look like?

A: the photos are available here

A: There are 2-person rooms and a few single rooms with bathrooms available. Each room is equipped with beds, desks, desk lamps, wardrobes & a kitchen annex with the sink and the refrigerator. There is the bedding: a duvet, a pillow and a blanket. 3-piece bedclothes consists of pillow cases, duvet cases and blankets could be changed for the clean ones every 4 weeks at the Reception desk. A kitchen and the shared bathrooms per floor are also at students`disposal.

Q: Are there studying rooms in the dormitory?

A: At the groundfloor, the common area room is available in Dorm 2 and 3.

It could be used as a study room. There is no the study room in Dorm1.

Q: Could I know the rules and obligations?

A: It will be updated soon, when one does the check-in, gets own copy.

Q: Where can I do the washing?

A: One can use the washing maschine at each floor laundry room for free but you need to have your own washing powders/ liquids/conditioners. Remember that the water in Lublin is the hard one so you need to use more chemicals to get the result of a nice washing.

Q: Where can I dry my clothes?

A: There are the standing drying racks and warm radiators inside the washing room. Within 24 hours one is supposed to take the washing off the racks for the next person to be able to use the laundry. Any other person can enter the room if there is sth left - so, be respectful for others. The key is to be taken from the Receptionist.

Q: What if my laundry is not drying quickly enough?

A: You can take it to the nearest laundrette and pay for the use of tumble dry machine there.

Q: Who is cleaning the room and the toilet inside?

A: Everybody, who lives in the room, looks after it. One need to buy cleaning sponges/liquids/creams to get rid of limescale and any dirt.

Q: What are the waste regulations?

Q: Do I need to bring my own bedding?

A: No, you do not need. Bring your own towels. Also, each student needs to buy for the personal use: toilet paper, soap, washing powder, fabric conditioners & washing-up liquid

Q: How could I cook my meals?

A: You need to have your own pots, frying pans, kitchen utensils and plates, mugs, cutlery and of course ingredients :]

Q: Is there a cattle available?

A: No, there isn’t. You need to have your own.

Q: Is there the gas cooker and the oven?

A: Yes, the gas cooker and the oven are in each floor kitchen, you need to share them with others.

Q: Where can I buy meals?

A: There is the canteen at the campus [check for the opening hours and days] and many bars & restaurants of different cuisine in the nearest surrounding.

Q: Who does look after the room equipment?

A: Residents do. Students are responsible for all the items which they use.

Q: Is there room service provided?

A: Room service is not provided. Students clean their rooms and own bathrooms by themselves. Common areas like: kitchens, laundry rooms are looked after the LUT’s Dormitory cleaning staff.

When using them, apply <the rule of Indians>: ”leave no trace” is more than welcome :]

Q: Is there the wi-fi available?

A: Yes, there is the Internet connection. Students need to set up or activate their eduroam account. In some places of the building, the signal might be a little weaker.

Q: Is there a plug for Internet cable in each room?

A: yes, there is.

Q: Can I stay with my friend in the same room?

A: Yes, you can. It would be the most appropriate if you mention it during the email correspondence or just at the arriving moment at the Reception desk.

Q: how do I know where I am accommodated during my exchange study period?

A: Usually, students are placed in Dorm1 in the area of four floors.

Q: How could I know about the room conditions and my roommates?

A: When you arrive to LUT’s Dormitory you can see the room without any financial consequences. If you decide to stay you will be asked to sign the Resident’s Registration Card, the Room Equipment Charter and the Hand-over Report in two copies, one for you and one for Administrator of Dormitory.

Q: Is there a working gym available for all students?
A: 1. an outside one - yes,
    2. the one inside the sport centre is available mainly during gym classes for E+ students,
    3. there is no gym in the Dorm premises.

Q: Could I arrive to the LUT’s Dormitory at night?

A: Yes, you could. Dormitory reception works 24/7.

Q: Could I arrive before the beginning of the semester?

A: Yes, you could. You need to pay extra money for each day before and after the semester edges.

Q: Could I stay during holiday time?

A: The extension of stay is possible. Students need to turn to the Dormitory Manager for an individual permission. Also: the payment for accommodation during holiday time (July, August, September) is regulated by separate provisions.

Q: Could I get back my Eur money if I decide not to stay in LUT’s Dormitory?

A: Yes, the returnable deposit will be returned. Here is the document to fill in and deliver in person or via email.

Q: Could I get back my Eur money in the end of my stay in LUT's Dormitory?

You need to deliver the document in the end of the stay. 

Please, open, download and fill it in on the computer and print it out.

You can deliver it in person to the Reception desk or send it to a.matyjaszczyk@pollub.pl

The deposit EUR could be returned after you leave, allow about 14 days to proceed.

Students have to put the active bank account number. [it has to be active after the mobility period]

Q: could I get my accommodation money back if I shorten my stay?

A: In case of early cancellation of stay in the Dormitory, a fee is charged only for the exact period of stay and the remaining amount will be refunded to the student account within two weeks from the date of handing in the document for accommodation money return.

After that: print it out and sign and bring to the Reception Desk at the LUT’s Dormitory.
