Buddy program

About the Buddy program:

International students' stay abroad (as part of their studies)

comprises four phases: the arrival, the start of studies, the remaining study period, and the departure.

At each of the phase, but especially before the arrival and during first period of the arrival, one may need help

• to minimalise the culture shock and to reduce tension and insecurity.

Within the Buddy program system frame: olders support youngers, more experienced support newcomers.

And receive help to:

• organize herself/himself in a new place,
• build up a (new) social life and network,
• get around and about,
• exchange experience.

Students, who provide help and support, can get benefits:

become more fluent in comunicating in foreign languages, develop social skills and learn about other cultures firsthand.
