Zachęcamy do zapoznania się z ofertą szkoły letniej organizowanej przez Technische Universität Dresden (Niemcy):

The 4^th international Summer School “Human Rights in Theory and Practice” will take place from August 25 to 29, 2025, in Dresden, Germany and online. This year’s theme, “Navigating Change – Contemporary Perspectives on Human Rights,” will explore how current global challenges affect the human rights system. In a rapidly changing world, developments such as the accelerating effects of climate change, emerging public health threats despite medical improvement or the unwarranted use of artificial intelligence pose unprecedented threats. These challenges could not have been foreseen when the International Bill of Human Rights was drafted, resulting in a conflict between evolving societal needs and the existing normative framework.

Participants can expect a diverse five-day program ranging from inspiring and interactive lectures by renowned speakers to modern formats such as coffee talks and interdisciplinary panel discussions. This will be complemented by a variety of evening activities and an interactive final format in which the newly acquired knowledge can be applied in a hands-on conference. There is also the opportunity to earn university credits (5 ECTS) by completing a final exam.

We are honoured to announce the participation of renowned speakers such as Prof. Dr. Geir Ulfstein (University of Oslo), Prof. Dr. Veronika Bílková (Charles University, Member of the Venice Commission), Prof. Dr. Ian Fry (former UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights in the context of climate change) and many more.

The summer school is designed for advanced students of law, political science, international relations, and related disciplines. The participation fee is €200 for in-person attendees and €50 for online participants. Registration closes on June 30^th.

There will be the opportunity of a travel grant. After registration, participants can apply for funding of €500 to help cover travel and accommodation expenses.
