When will I know that I’m accepted to stay at LUT’s Dormitory?

How much money do I need to pay for my accommodation?

One bed in a shared room for two people costs PLN 895 per month.

  • The price includes:
    • Utilities (such as electricity, water, heating, and internet).
    • One bedding/blanket change per month.

You must pay for the entire semester's accommodation in advance.

  • This payment must be made for the entire semester within one week upon your arrival (by bank transfer or by card).

The exact amount depends on the official semester period and your move-in date. If you arrive before the period, those initial days are charged separately on a daily basis.

How can I pay my accommodation fee?

You can pay with your credit card at the Dormitory Reception Desk or by bank transfer. Cash payments are not possible.

Can I get the document for the visa purpose based on the accommodation at LUT’s Dormitory
Yes. It will be sent to you by email. The document is valid only if the proof of the deposit payment, downloaded from your bank account, is attached to it.
How does the room look like?

The photos are available here.*

There are double rooms and a limited number of single rooms with private bathrooms available.

Each room is furnished with beds, desks, desk lamps, wardrobes, and a kitchenette equipped with a sink and a refrigerator.

The room also includes a duvet, pillow, blanket, pillowcase, and duvet cover. Clean pillowcases and duvet covers can be exchanged at the Reception Desk every four weeks.

Students also have access to shared kitchens and shared bathrooms located on each floor.

The color of the furniture may be different in each of the 4 dorms.

Are there studying rooms in the dormitory?
The common area room is available in Dorm 2 and 3. It could be used as a study room. There is no the study room in Dorm 1.
Where can I wash my clothes?
You can use the washing machines in the laundry rooms located on each floor free of charge. However, you must bring your own laundry detergent, fabric softener, and any other washing products you need. 
Where can I dry my clothes?

There are standing drying racks and warm radiators in the laundry room. Please remove your laundry within 24 hours so that others can use the space.

The laundry room is shared, so other students may enter if items are left behind. Please be considerate and respectful of others.

The key to the laundry room must be collected from the Reception Desk.

If your laundry does not dry quickly enough, you can use a nearby laundrette and pay for a tumble dryer service there.

Who is responsible for cleaning the room and the toilet inside?
Everyone who lives in the room is responsible for keeping it clean. You will need to buy cleaning sponges and cleaning products, such as liquids or creams, to remove limescale and other dirt.
How can I cook my meals?
There is a shared kitchen on each floor. You will need to bring your own pots, frying pans, kitchen utensils, plates, mugs, cutlery, and, of course, ingredients. You can then use your own cookware and utensils to prepare meals in the kitchen.
Is there a cattle available?
No, there isn’t. You need to have your own.
Is there a gas cooker and an oven?
Yes, the gas cooker and the oven are at the kitchen in each floor, you need to share them with others.
Where can I buy ready-to-eat meals?
There is a canteen at the campus called "Lanczomania" [check for the opening hours and days] and many bars & restaurants of different cuisine in the nearest surrounding.
Who is responsible for looking after the room equipment?
Students are responsible for all the items they use.
Is there room service provided?
Room service is not provided. Students clean their rooms and own bathrooms by themselves. Common areas, such as kitchens and laundry rooms, are cleaned and maintained by the LUT dormitory cleaning staff.
Is there any wi-fi available?

Yes, there is the Internet connection. Students need to set up or activate their eduroam account. In some places of the building, the signal might be a little weaker.

There is also a plug for Internet cable in each room.

Can I stay with my friend in the same room?
Yes, you can. You should mention it during the email correspondence or at the arriving moment at the Reception desk.
How can I know about the room conditions and my roommates?
When you arrive at LUT’s Dormitory you can see the room without any financial consequences. If you decide to stay you will be asked to sign the Resident’s Registration Card, the Room Equipment Charter and the Hand-over Report in two copies, one for you and one for Administrator of Dormitory.
Is there a gym available for all students?
  1. an outside one - yes;
  2. the one inside the sport centre is available mainly during gym classes for E+ students;
  3. there is no gym in the Dorm   
Can I arrive at the LUT’s Dormitory at night?
Yes, the Dormitory reception works 24/7.
Can I arrive before the beginning of the semester?

Yes, however, you will need to pay extra money for each day before the semester starts.

Can I stay at the dormitory during the holiday period?
The extension of stay is possible. Students must request individual permission from the Dormitory Manager by email.
Can I get my money back if I decide not to stay in LUT’s Dormitory?
Yes, the deposit will be returned. 
Can I get my accommodation money back if I shorten my stay?

In case of earlier cancellation of stay, the money is returned based on the following regulations:

a) if a student leaves the room between 1st and 15th day of a monthgets 50% of the monthly fee back

b) if a student leaves the room on 16th day of a month or later – there is no return of money for this month.

To receive your money back

1) download the Bank Account Declaration

2) complete on Computer

3) print it out,

4) sign it

5) leave at Reception

PLEASE ensure that the bank account you provide will remain active for at least three months after the end of your mobility period.
