Orientation Days are not only about formalities, organisational meetings at faculties and training sessions. An extremely important aspect is familiarising foreign students coming to Lublin with the topography, history and culture of our city.
Like every other semester, there were plenty of people willing to go on guided walking tours – places filled up in a few minutes. For three consecutive Saturdays in October (11, 18 and 25 October), over 50 Erasmus students explored legendary places in Lublin with the exceptional guide, Szymon Furmaniak. "During the four-hour tour, we went from the earliest days of Lublin, Castle Hill, through the Old Town and the promenade, to the Osterwa Theatre on Litewski Square. Traditionally, the tour ended at Baobab. The light drizzle did not dampen our trip, the mood was good, and Lublin enveloped us in the warmth of history," recalls the guide.
This year, the groups were also accompanied by Buddy mentors, who helped the participants get to the starting point of the trip and enjoyed the tours themselves as well.
