Lublin University of Technology has confirmed its value on the international stage, ranking among the 1201-1400 best universities in the world according to the latest QS World University Rankings 2025. This is one of the four most important global university rankings.
- Such rankings help to build and strengthen the international reputation of universities. The Lublin University of Technology's presence in them is proof that our efforts are bearing fruit. At the same time, it shows us areas that we can improve in order to achieve even better results,' states Professor Zbigniew Pater, the Rector.
Lublin University of Technology is the only university from the Lublin region to be included in this year's list. On a national scale, the university was ranked 20th.
Every year, the QS ranking assesses more and more universities, which increases the competition and raises the bar. Around 3,000 universities were analysed this year, of which 1,503 made it into the final list.
The key indicators that earned Lublin University of Technology a high position are the number of citations, the ratio of academic teachers to students, international research cooperation and the percentage of foreign students.
- They testify to the fact that Lublin University of Technology effectively strives to provide high quality education and actively engages in global research projects, which attracts scientists and students from all over the world,' says Professor Zbigniew Pater. According to the rector, these achievements underline the competitiveness of LUT on the international arena and confirm its position as a prestigious educational and scientific institution.
The QS ranking is based on five main criteria. The most important indicator is Research and Discovery, which consists of reputation ratings from academic experts and the number of citations, which is an estimate of the impact and quality of scientific work carried out by the university. Another indicator is Employability and Outcomes, which is developed based on employer feedback and on the institution's ability to provide high levels of employability of its graduates and leadership training. Other evaluation criteria include: faculty-to-student ratio, international engagement assessed by the number of foreign researchers, students and participation in international research networks, and commitment to sustainability issues. The ranking has been published for more than two decades by Quacquarelli Symonds, a leader in providing analytical services to the international higher education sector.
